boat booking photos contacts		The International Club of Integrated sailing, ICIS is promoting integrated sailing in the waters of Gran Canary. The club was founded in 2002 and started out at Anfi del Mar. President Fernando Jimenez of Federación Insular de Vela de Gran Canaria in October 2004 invited ICIS to join the FIV. We then moved our four 2,4 mR boats, the Atlas hydraulic crane, the Zodiac dinghy, and the 3x7 m floating rigging dock sponsored by one of eight founding members, Steff Herbern, to FIV at dock 11 in Muelle Deportivo, Las Palmas. The 2,4mR Norlin mark III has a fixed keel, filled with lead bars and was designed by famous Peter Norlin. The overall length is 4,20, the beam 0,80 and the draft about 1,0 m. Including hull, lead, mast and sails the boat weighs about 260 kgs, not including the helmsman. She is fitted with pedals or hand steering (for people with poor leg function). There are about 400 of them in Sweden, and there are registered more than 100 boats in each of Denmark, Finland and Norway. Our 4 boats are sister boats and are recently fitted out with new equal sets of sails. Thus they are perfectly suited for match racing. The boat owners of the ICIS fleet (Ingmar Björndahl (2), Peter Norlin (1) and “Skota hem” of Sweden (1)) must pay the 4 cuotas of 50 € pr boat to the FIV. (The dinghy is free) The fleet is looked after by our faithful boatbuilder Ingmar Bjorndahl, who presently spends much time during the winter in Las Palmas caring for our boats. In agreement with the FIV ICIS members are authorized to sail in and aound the harbour area when complying with the following requirements: 1. Hold a membership in a local sailing club in the home country. 2. Hold a travel insurance or other personal insurance including responsibility overcharge. 3 Pay the yearly membership fee in ICIS of, presently, 20 €uros The fees for renting a 2,4 mR presently amounts to 30 € pr day or 150 € pr week.
